Joe Biden Was Right About Iraq – 8 Years Ago

8 years ago, Joseph Biden, Democrat Senator from Delaware , came up with a proposal for the political future of Iraq that was treated with scorn by critics; silence by friends.

The senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee proposed Monday that Iraq be divided into three separate regions — Kurdish, Shiite and Sunni — with a central government in Baghdad.

In an op-ed essay in Monday’s edition of The New York Times, Sen. Joseph Biden. D-Del., wrote that the idea “is to maintain a united Iraq by decentralizing it, giving each ethno-religious group … room to run its own affairs, while leaving the central government in charge of common interests

Well, well !

Here we are in 2014 with Iraq aflame -as predicted- for the very reasons Joe Biden – now Vice President Joe Biden-had suggested.

500 Revolutionary Guards from Iran are helping the Shi’ites fight off Sunni militants ( the so-called “Islamic State in Iraq”) who have been attacking the Iraqi capitol in force.

Similar Guards units are also fighting Sunnis in Syria -only they call it “defending the Shrine”.

Both sects of Islam dream of establishing a crescent-shaped super-state-under the absolute religious/political/military control of their sect—-and (oh, yes) in total control of those delicious oil revenues–and (What the heck was that one ? Oh yeah.) Death to Israel and any Infidels or whatever standing in the way.

Did I mention : Joe Biden predicted most of this, and got laughed at by people far and wide—including me ?

In any event, it would seem his advice of 8 years ago is still being ignored.

Here’s an original report of what he said:

Yes, folks: THAT Joe Biden.

I know it’s unfashionable, but perhaps we should listen this time !

Incidentally, here is a link to his original Council on Foreign Relations Op Ed:
